Getting married abroad, also known as "destination wedding", is becoming increasingly popular. And a free wedding ceremony can of course also be celebrated abroad without any problems. Unlike a civil ceremony, there is no paperwork to do and you don't have to worry about recognition in your home country. All you need is yourselves, a location and a wedding orator. :-)
I've been to weddings abroad myself and I think there's definitely something to be said for it. Pretty much everyone is more relaxed and happier on vacation because you can forget about everyday life and daily worries. And if there's also a wedding as a highlight, it's simply unbeatable! It creates a very special atmosphere. Imagine arriving with your guests a few days before the wedding and having a great get-together. The next day the women go on a beauty day and the men have some buddy time or you all go on a great excursion and get in the mood for the wedding. On the big day itself, nobody has to stress about getting there in time. Everyone is already at the location and full of anticipation. The bride and her friends get styled, the men slip into their finest threads. You can really get involved with yourselves, your wedding and, of course, your free wedding ceremony as the emotional highlight. And after you've danced and partied the night away, you can have brunch with your loved ones the next morning and look back on the most beautiful moments. This can be a very special experience for you and your friends and family.
On the other hand, getting married abroad naturally involves a little more planning, especially if there is a language barrier. The cost factor also plays a role. However, there are certainly countries where travel and accommodation are a cost factor, but the wedding itself (location, food, drinks, etc.) is cheaper than in Germany. Here you have to think carefully about what is important to you. As often, there is no right or wrong. Do whatever YOU feel comfortable with. You don't have to follow a trend that doesn't suit you. But if you've always dreamed of a wedding abroad, then go for it!
